Ymweliad i’r Senedd/ Visit to the Senedd

Am ddiwrnod! Roedd yn bleser mynd â disgyblion Ysgol Bryn y Môr yr holl ffordd i Gaerdydd i ymweld â'r Senedd heddiw. Roedd pawb ar eu gorau ac wedi dysgu cymaint!

Yn gyntaf, aethom i mewn i'r Senedd (ar ôl sicrhau bod bagiau pawb yn saff!) a cherddom o amgylch yr adeilad. Dysgom am bwysigrwydd y Senedd, yn ogystal â'r deunyddiau a ddefnyddiwyd i'w hadeiladu. Yna cawsom gyflwyniad diddorol am waith y Senedd. Dysgom pwy yw ein haelodau lleol, pwy yw'r Prif Weinidog, a'r mathau o faterion sy'n cael eu trafod a'u penderfynu yno. Roedd yn gyfle gwych i ddysgu mwy am sut mae Cymru'n cael ei llywodraethu.

Clywom hefyd am y newidiadau sy'n digwydd i'r Senedd ar hyn o bryd, gan gynnwys y gwaith o addasu Siambr y Senedd i gynnwys mwy o aelodau. Yn hytrach na lle i 60 o aelodau, bydd lle i 96 yn y dyfodol.

Nesaf, aethom draw i Ganolfan yr Urdd i gymryd rhan mewn etholiad ein hunain. Roedd rhaid i ni ddarllen maniffestos gwahanol bleidiau cyn pleidleisio'n gyfrinachol. Yna cyfrifwyd y pleidleisiau i weld pwy oedd wedi ennill. Roedd hwn yn brofiad gwych a helpodd ni i ddeall yn well sut mae democratiaeth yn gweithio.

Cyn mynd yn ôl ar y bws, cawsom gyfle arbennig i wylio a gwrando ar gyfarfod llawn y prynhawn yn y Siambr. Roedd rhaid inni fod yn dawel iawn, ond roedd yn brofiad hynod ddiddorol gweld y Senedd ar waith go iawn!

Roedd yn ddiwrnod arbennig iawn, ac mae pawb wedi dod adref gyda llawer o wybodaeth a phrofiadau newydd. 😊

What a day! It was a pleasure to take the pupils of Ysgol Bryn y Môr all the way to Cardiff to visit the Senedd today. Everyone was on their best behaviour and learned so much!

First, we went into the Senedd (after making sure everyone’s bags were safe!) and had a tour of the building. We learned about the importance of the Senedd, as well as the materials used to construct it. We then received an interesting presentation about the work of the Senedd. We learned who our local representatives are, who the First Minister is, and the types of issues that are discussed and decided there. It was a great opportunity to learn more about how Wales is governed.

We also heard about the changes currently taking place at the Senedd, including the work being carried out to adapt the debating chamber to accommodate more members. Instead of seating 60 Members of the Senedd, it will soon have space for 96.

Next, we visited the Urdd Centre to take part in our own election. We had to read the manifestos of different parties before casting our votes in secret. The votes were then counted to see who had won. This was a fantastic experience and helped us gain a better understanding of how democracy works.

Before heading back to the bus, we had the special opportunity to watch and listen to the afternoon plenary session in the chamber. We had to be very quiet, but it was fascinating to see the Senedd in action and observe how decisions are discussed and debated.

It was a wonderful day, and everyone returned home with lots of new knowledge and memorable experiences! 😊
